What is Radian?

Initially, the symbol used to specify radian was “rad”. But now in general mathematical practices, the symbol rad has been excluded.

For the conversion of radians to degrees, we will follow the same rule:
360 ° = 2π radians
180 ° = 1π radian
So, the radian can be converted to degrees using the following rule:

As the formula for converting radian into degrees is: 1 rad = (180\π)°. Thus, to convert π\6 radians into degrees we will simply replace the value of the radian that has to be converted into degrees.

History of radian unit invention
The radian unit was named before as a “circular measure”. Its concept was first adopted in 1714 by Roger cotes and later on the name, Radian was globally adopted in 1873 by James Thomson.
