# Radians to degrees converter

Convert number in radians to degrees equivalent.

## What is Radian?

Another most important unit for the angle measurement besides degrees is the radian. It is defined as the angle made at the center of the circle by an arc and the length of that arc is equal to the radius of the circle.

The full circle is equivalent to 2π radians or approximately 6.28 radians.

### Symbol

Initially, the symbol used to specify radian was “rad”. But now in general mathematical practices, the symbol rad has been excluded.

## Radians to degrees formula

degrees = radians * 180° / π

1 rad = 57.295779513 °

### How do you convert radians into degrees?

For the conversion of radians to degrees, we will follow the same rule:

360 ° = 2π radians

180 ° = 1π radian

So, the radian can be converted to degrees using the following rule:

1 rad = (180\π)°

### Example: convert π\6 radians to degrees measure

As the formula for converting radian into degrees is: 1 rad = (180\π)°. Thus, to convert π\6 radians into degrees we will simply replace the value of the radian that has to be converted into degrees.

(π\6 rad) = (180°\π) = 30 °
